The European Medicines Agency has launched a consultation that will serve to revise the European Commission Guideline Annex on the ‘Excipients in the labelling and package leaflet of medicinal products for human use’.

The current guideline annex already foresees lactose information for medicinal products provided by the oral route. This consultation is then important to include information about lactose contained in parenteral and inhaled products, frequent medicine routes for allergy and airways diseases.

Easy to access allergen information is a crucial prevention tool to prevent allergic reactions (Allergy to cow-milk protein is a common disease, often appearing in childhood).
