The February 2024 edition of the Interest Group newsletter looks back on the main highlights of our community throughout 2023 and explores what the new year will bring. We were advocating for One-Health-in-all-policies approach and stronger air quality law to protect the health of allergy and asthma patients. Our Allegy & Asthma Youth Parliament stood at the forefront of health digitalisation, advancing the dialogue among the young generation. Looking forward, we have a year of decisive EU elections and more than ever, we need a strong and integrated approach on allergy and asthma for better lives of patients in Europe. Bioaerosols are major environmental pollutants that impact human health and the environment. In its event “Need for an EU One Health-in-all policies approach: addressing the allergy and asthma epidemic”, the European Allergy and Asthma Interest Group dives into a discussion on the European legislative framework on bioaerosol pollutants, research on the effects of pollen on health, and the need for better information. The December 2022 version of the Interest Group newsletter reflected on its continued work around the EU's 'Healthier Together' Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) initative, and Interest Group Chair Sirpa Pietikäinen's meeting with the European Allergy and Asthma Youth Parliament.
